Mint Chocolate Avocado Mousse Pots

Happy Valentines Day, lovely readers.

I’ve done it! I’ve finally managed to persuade my Dad that avocado can be delicious, and it’s only taken a few years. How you ask? Well, the secret and the truth, is all in the pudding.

Chocolate recipes are not scarce on this blog, in fact, I’d say ‘chocolate’ is the word that appears the most on Nourishing Amy and across my social media, as I am a self-confessed chocoholic and proud. That said, avocado comes a very close second to the foods I eat pretty much every day, without fail. So, why not combine them both into one delicious, healthy and indulgent dessert.

These Mint Chocolate Avocado Mousse Pots could not be simpler as they only require 7 ingredients, one bowl or blender and 5 minutes. That means you are only ever 5 minutes away from a decadent, vegetable packed treat.

For this recipe, I used Holy Moly Pure Avocado which is very silky and smooth and 100% avocado, or you can definitely use the same weight of avocado. Just be sure they are vey ripe and taste great. To the green dream, add a ripe banana for natural sweetness, melted chocolate, raw cacao powder and a dash of milk. I like my mousse on the darker side, but you can add a little maple syrup here if your bananas aren’t naturally sweet enough. This base recipe is very versatile so feel free to let your imagination run wild at this point for flavour combinations. I have opted for the classic chocolate mint with some peppermint extract but you could try orange, vanilla or rose extract. I’d suggest to use a pure extract for the best flavour. You could even use flavoured chocolate to make these chocolate avocado mousse pots even better.

Blend until smooth and creamy and serve topped with some fresh coconut yoghurt and berries to contrast with the rich and indulgent pots. Eat this straight away or, if you can restrain yourself, keep in the fridge and top with the yoghurt and berries just before serving.

These Mint Chocolate Avocado Mousse Pots make a great dessert at dinner parties, for friends or as a quick mid-week dessert when the chocolate-craving hits. No-one would realise they’re healthy nor that they contain avocado. Dad couldn’t be happier.

I hope you’ll love these Mint Chocolate Avocado Mousse Pots, they are fresh and vibrant, deliciously rich and decadent, refined sugar free and naturally healthy, gluten free and vegan.
