Mocha Cold Brew Overnight Oats

Rich, creamy and thick overnight oats with indulgent mocha flavours. These make a perfect grab and go breakfast or for a more leisurely brunch at home, too. They are naturally vegan, gluten-free and refined sugar-free.

I love to eat oats in whichever way I can. Whether that is porridge bowls, flapjack bars, oaty snacks or overnight oats, they are all delicious. There is something so satisfying about oats, they’re hearty, wholesome and full of fibre, making them a great choice for breakfast or a snack.

Oats are also so versatile and lend themselves to any number of flavour combinations, and this mocha one is a new favourite of mine. I first made these Mocha Cold Brew Overnight Oats using a mocha cold brew plant-based milk drink (from Califia Farms) but you can also use a blend of instant coffee, milk and cocoa or cacao powder for just as tasty results.

Stir it all together, leave it to thicken overnight and that’s all there is to it! For really indulgent toppings, add some chocolate, chocolate sauce, fruits and nuts, or keep it simple with banana and some nut butter. These Mocha Cold Brew Overnight Oats will taste delicious on their own, too, if you don’t have time to add the toppings.

This recipe is really simple to make and doesn’t rely on any fancy ingredients – chia seeds are a staple in my house, and they thicken the mixture really nicely but if you don’t have any, then you can miss them out. But I do recommend investing in some as they come in handy for so many recipes.

These Mocha Cold Brew Overnight Oats are hearty, wholesome and indulgent tasting thanks to the mocha flavours. They are naturally vegan and gluten-free (check your oats if you are intolerant) and a healthy source of fibre. They are versatile, meaning you can add your own toppings. Make up extras to enjoy throughout the week, too, as they’ll last for a few days in the fridge.

Great recipe Amy for overnight oats and yay I worked out from your blog recipe above that you can add more plant based milks to your mixture. Along with using chai seeds to thicken the mixture and looks delicious 😋 for sure. Aww I love coffee (decaf) can I use decaf instead, will it work?
I don’t have any jars with lids but I do have a jar drinking with straw for drinks would that work. Or I have spare old jam jars probably that I can upcycle maybe?
