Ginger Mango Green Smoothie

A light and refreshing green smoothie filled with tropical mango and creamy banana with added greens for a boost! It is perfect for a light snack or breakfast that’s vegan, gluten-free and filled with good-for-you ingredients.

There is nothing better than a good old green smoothie when you need a bit of a boost. This Ginger Mango Green Smoothie is refreshingly light and zingy while being creamy and fruity thanks to the tropical mango and sweet banana. It’s naturally sweetened with fruit to balance out the greens and the spinach.  A piece of fresh ginger adds a lot of vibrancy to this smoothie and makes it more warming. There are also some chia seeds, too, for some healthy fats and fibre and they also thicken the smoothie to make it deliciously indulgent in texture.

Now, let’s talk greens. Despite the vibrant colour – perfect for upcoming St. Patrick’s Day 2020, it doesn’t taste “green” or “like grass” so even if you’re not a fan of the green taste, you’ll love this smoothie. Either use a pre-made blend of green powders (I like the one from Natures Heart) or make your own from matcha, spirulina and wheatgrass. Throw in some spinach, too, and this Ginger Mango Green Smoothie has so many sources of green goodness.

You can also add a scoop of protein powder if you want an added boost to this drink and to make it more filling. I like to serve it with some dried fruit and nut snacks or alongside some granola or porridge. It really is so versatile – it’s also great to sip on mid-afternoon for a delicious and healthful pick me up.
