Jammie Dodger Peanut Butter (Vegan)

A silky smooth homemade peanut butter studded with Jammie dodger biscuits pieces – the ultimate PB&J combination! With only 2 ingredients, it is easy to make and naturally vegan, as well as GF options, too.

Did you hear? Jammie dodgers are now plant-based in the UK as of July 2020 – watch out for older batches and check the labels before buying, though! It is safe to say the vegan community went a little crazy for these jam-and-cream sandwich biscuits that now fall into the “accidently vegan” category along with many other much-loved biscuits like Oreos, Bourbons, Custard Creams and Party Rings. It is pretty amazing that all of these childhood classics use no animal products and have been loved for decades.

There were so many ways I wanted to celebrate these new vegan biscuits and nut butter came to mind – after my previous Cookies and Cream Nut Butter and Hazelnut Bourbon Biscuit Butter… a Jammie dodger one only seemed like a natural progression.

So here is the ultimate PB&J combination: Jammie Dodger Peanut Butter. With only two ingredients, it takes no-time at all to come together and is rather addictive, like all nut butter! While Jammie dodgers are now vegan, they are not naturally gluten-free, so check out the free-from aisles in the supermarkets as a lot of own-brand jam-and-cream-sandwich biscuits will be gluten-free. And then you can get ready to make this deliciously silky-smooth spread studded with jammy and crunchy bits of cookie.

The two ingredients we need are:

  • Peanuts: roast these to add a depth of flavour and richness to the peanut butter. As with all nut butters, this step is not essential, but it really does make it so much better.
  • Jammie dodgers: or other own-brand varieties just read the labels carefully as I am not sure that supermarkets have followed suit in making their jam and cream sandwich cookies fully plant-based.

Blend the peanuts until really smooth (this will depend on the power of your food processor: the higher-powered the better for the best texture but just keep going and be patient) and the pulse in the biscuits to break them down. I used to LOVE Jammie dodgers as a child and in my teens and there is something so nostalgic and wonderful about being able to enjoy them once again in this Jammie Dodger Peanut Butter.

Store this nut butter in a sealed jar or container and it will last a few weeks like regular nut butter – if you can resist! Enjoy this PB&J nut butter as you would any nut butter: on smoothie bowls, porridge bowls and yoghurt bowls for breakfast, as a snack with some apple or banana, baked into flapjacks and cookies or straight from the jar with a spoon (that’s my favourite way).

I hope you will enjoy this Jammie Dodger Peanut Butter as much as I do, between this and my other nut butters, I always have a few on the go and dip into each jar depending on my mood that day. If you are looking for more simple sweet recipes, how about my:
