What ingredients go into these bliss balls?

These are pretty wholesome and chocolatey:

  • Medjool dates: these little dates are the reason these truffles are so tender and jammy. Medjool dates are best as the texture is the softest but ay dried dates will also work, just rehydrate them in boiling water first, as below.
  • Almond butter: I love the flavour of the almond butter with the cacao but you can also use cashew or another nut butter. Or, to make these nut-free, use a seed butter like tahini or sunflower seed butter. It is best if it is smooth and runny.
  • Vanilla essence: for the flavour.
  • Oat flour: this keeps the truffles wholesome and packed with fibre, too. Blitz your oats to a fine flour texture at home and keep in a glass jar for 2-3 months. Use gluten-free certified oats where needed.
  • Cacao powder: for the rich chocolate flavour. You can use cacao or cocoa powder, make sure they are 100% cocoa/cacao without added sugars for the most intense chocolate flavour.
  • Salt: to bring out all the flavours.
  • Dark chocolate: or you can use any chocolate to go on top of the Chocolate Truffle Bliss Balls. I like dark chocolate the best to keep the truffles rich.
  • Decorations: I chose a selection of decorations to go on top of these truffles. I love adding crushed candy canes, sprinkles, chia seeds, cacao nibs and flaky salt, too.

Are these truffles gluten-free and nut-free?

These Chocolate Truffle Bliss Balls are easily gluten-free if you use gluten-free oats and to make the balls nut-free, opt for a seed butter like sunflower seed or tahini instead of the almond butter.

How long will these last for?

These are a great recipe to make ahead of time as they will keep for 1 week or more in a sealed container in the fridge and they taste just as great as when you made them.

I love these truffles, what other no-bake snacks can I make?

I hope you will love these rich and chocolatey balls and if you are looking for other no-bake sweets, how about my:
