Pear and Raisin Quick Soak Overnight Oats (Vegan High-Protein)

These Pear and Raisin Quick Soak Overnight Oats are thick, creamy and packed with feel-good ingredients. They are ready 5 minutes without soaking overnight and are full of cosy spices, pears and raisins.

Welcome back to episode 5 of my quick soak oat series, where I create oat recipes that feel and taste just like overnight oats without the need to soak them overnight. Boiling water is the magic ingredient to turn these oats thick and creamy in just 30 minutes. This flavour combination is ideal for the season with cinnamon, ripe pears and some raisins for texture (they turn really plump while soaking). They even come with a quick sticky cinnamon pear topping which takes these to the next level, but if you are in a rush, you can skip this step.

What ingredients do I need?

You can see the ingredients with weights in the recipe card below and see my favourite recommended products in the “shop the recipe” section.

For the oats:

  • Oats: make sure these are gluten-free, where needed.
  • Pear: grate the pear for inside the oats to add fibre, sweetness and also volume to the oats.
  • Ground flaxseed: for thickening the oats and adding fibre.
  • Chia seeds: these add omega goodness and are great for adding fibre and thickening the oats.
  • Raisins: these turn juicy and plump in the water soak and are great for adding some sweetness. You can use other dried fruits like sultanas, chopped dates or cranberries.
  • Boiling water: this immediately softens the oats and seeds to make them soft and plump.
  • Thick coconut yoghurt: to make the oats really creamy. I like Cocos Organic natural or vanilla yoghurt or NUSH almond-based yoghurt, too.
  • Plant-based milk: use your preferred dairy-free milk like oat, almond, soya or coconut (from the carton).
  • Vegan protein powder: either a slated caramel or vanilla flavour is best here, and I love the Form nutrition protein range.
  • Cinnamon: this adds so much cosy flavour.

And for the toppings:

  • Pear: chop the pear into small chunks for on top.
  • Coconut oil: to start to cook off and soften the pears.
  • Maple syrup: this turns the pears really sticky. You can also use agave syrup.
  • Cinnamon: for the sweet autumnal flavour.

I also add some extra yoghurt, nutty granola or chopped nuts/seeds, blueberries and an extra drizzle of syrup or (vegan) honey on top.

Are these gluten-free and nut-free?

This recipe is gluten-free as long as you use gluten-free certified oats (and granola on top) and to keep the oats nut-free, check that your milk and yoghurt do not contain nuts, and any toppings you add.

How do I make them?

These are ready to go in a few steps:

  • Add the oats, pear and seeds to a bowl with boiling water: and allow to soak for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, cook the chopped pear in syrup and cinnamon: until sticky.
  • Stir the yoghurt, protein and milk into the oats: so they are creamy.
  • Pour into bowls and serve with the pears and extra toppings: and enjoy.

How long will they last?

Once made, keep these oats in the fridge for 2-3 days, in a sealed container.
