I have been keen to try whipped feta for a long time now, and finally I got around to making my own recipe. This one is fully vegan, with added flavour from the roasted garlic and it uses simple, easy to find ingredients. This dip really is a winner with everyone, you’d never tell it was dairy-free and vegan. What ingredients do I need?

You only 5 key ingredients (plus seasoning) to make this feta dip:

  • Garlic: use a whole garlic bulb, peel off the tough outer layer and then chop off the top so the bulbs are expose. Then rub with olive oil, salt and pepper and wrap in foil. Bake or air fry till super soft and sticky. You can use the rest of the garlic for adding into sauces, spreading on toast and more.
  • Vegan feta cheese: there are quite a few vegan feta-style cheeses in the supermarkets in the UK which is great, so use your favourite. I like the Violife one and supermarkets often have their own brand, too.
  • Vegan cream cheese: this is great for adding smoothness and a cooling flavour to the whipped cheese. I like the one from NUSH or again use the Violife or own-brand.
  • Lemon juice: for tang.
  • Olive oil: for roasting the garlic and for adding into the dip. For the dip, use the best quality olive oil you have as the better the flavour, the better the whip will taste.
  • Salt, honey and chilli flakes: for flavour.
  • Vegan honey: for serving on top. This sticky sweetness pairs perfectly with the rich, savoury cheesiness of the dip.

What’s on your sharing board?

This board is a delicious one for sharing with friends and is a mix of roasted edamame beans, peas and legumes from Natures Heart which come in three flavours: BBQ Crunch Snacks; Chilli and Lemon; and Sea Salt and Pepper. Then I’ve added some crackers, chopped cucumber, cherry tomatoes, sliced peppers and some blueberries (I love sweet and salty together).

How do I make this?

There are only two key steps to making this dip:

  • Roast the garlic: trim the end so the bulbs are exposed, rub with oil, wrap in foil and bake or air fry till soft. Allow to cool then squeeze out the bulbs to use for the dip.
  • Add all the ingredients into a blender: and process till really smooth.
  • Serve in bowls topped with the vegan honey: or however you like.

Sounds nice. Just love garlic. I’m not keen on vegan cheese tho, too much unhealthy fat and never tastes like cheese. I shall use soft tofu and add a few herbs and nooch.
