Deliciously fresh, fruity, chocolatey and nutty, these Chocolate Orange and Pistachio FroYo Bites take 10 minutes to make and are the best no-bake, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free snack.
I love having a few of these bites in the freezer, they are so chocolatey, fruity and nutty are made with just a handful of ingredients. They are naturally high in protein and gut-healthy ingredients and are coated in a thick layer of dark chocolate. The inside is smooth, creamy and feels/tastes like ice cream but is made lighter with yoghurt. I love how easy these are to make and how refreshing they are when the weather is warmer, but they are just as delicious in the winter. They are my go-to when I crave something chocolatey.

What ingredients do I need?

For the bites:
Thick coconut yoghurt: like Cocos Organic yoghurt, or you can use another dairy-free yoghurt like NUSH protein almond yoghurt. Make sure it’s creamy, smooth and made with only a few ingredients. It’s also better when it’s thick like Greek-style.
Vegan vanilla protein powder: I love Form vanilla protein powder as it’s really delicious and makes the yoghurt so creamy.
Raw pistachios: to add some crunch. Make sure they are raw and unsalted. To make this nut-free, swap these for granola or seeds.
Satsumas: or another orange like tangerines.
Runny pistachio butter: I love pistachio butter, it’s vibrant green and so delicious. You can use smooth or crunchy and tot make it nut-free, swap this for tahini or sunflower seed butter.
Dark chocolate: I use the Divine dark orange and ginger chocolate which works so well with the orange in the filling. You can also use regular dark or dairy-free chocolate.
Coconut oil: to help the chocolate set more quickly and so it’s less likely to crack.

Are these gluten-free and nut-free?
These are naturally gluten-free and to make them nut-free, swap the pistachios for granola or seeds and swap the pistachio butter for sunflower seed butter or tahini. Also check our yoghurt and chocolate for nuts.
How do I make them?
These are ready to eat in a few steps:
Stir together the yoghurt, protein powder and pistachios: until smooth.
Spoon the yoghurt into disks: on a parchment lined tray.
Swirl on the pistachio butter: on top of the yoghurt.
Place on a slice of satsuma: and freeze for 1 hour.
Melt the chocolate and coconut oil: in the microwave or over a pan of simmering water.
Dip each yoghurt bite into the chocolate: and allow the excess to drip off.
Repeat to coat all the bites: and sprinkle with extra pistachios.
Enjoy straight away: or keep in the freezer.

You can keep these for 1 month in the freezer in a sealed container.
Chocolate Orange and Pistachio FroYo Bites (Vegan Gluten-Free)

Deliciously fresh, fruity, chocolatey and nutty, these Chocolate Orange and Pistachio FroYo Bites take 10 minutes to make and are the best no-bake, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free snack.
Ingredients
280g thick coconut yoghurt
40g vegan vanilla protein powder, optional
20g raw pistachios, chopped
2 satsumas, in slices
3-4 tbsp runny smooth pistachio butter
200g dark chocolate, chopped small
1 tbsp coconut oil
Extra pistachios, crushed
Instructions
Line a freezer-safe tray with baking parchment.
Whisk together the yoghurt and protein powder, if using, and stir in the pistachios to combined.
Scoop the yoghurt mix into 6 rounds on the tray and smooth over the tops.
Spoon over the pistachio butter and top with a slice of satsuma.
Transfer to the freezer for 1 hour, until firm to touch.
Meanwhile, add the chopped dark chocolate and coconut oil to a heatproof bowl and melt until glossy and combined.
Remove each yoghurt bite, in turn, from the tray and dip into the chocolate to evenly cover the bites. Allow excess chocolate to drip off and place on a parchment lined tray. Sprinkle over the crushed pistachios while the chocolate is still wet. Repeat to coat all the FroYo bites.
Enjoy straight away or keep in a sealed container in the freezer for 1 month.
