Snickers: with a gooey peanut butter caramel and crunchy peanuts.
Bounty: with a soft crunchy and smooth coconut cream filling.
The base of the recipe is just medjool dates and chocolate, and they are so easy to make, but taste amazing. What ingredients do I need?
You can see the ingredients in the recipe card below and see my favourite and recommended products in the “shop the recipe” section.
For the base:
Medjool dates: the squishy ones are the best but if you can only find the dried ones, make sure to press them more firmly into the trays.
Dark or oat milk chocolate: I love the Raw Halo oat milk buttons are they are so deliciously smooth and chocolatey.
Coconut oil: to help the chocolatey set more smoothly and it’s less likely to crack with the coconut oil.
To make the snickers filling:
Peanut butter: make sure it’s 100% nuts where you can and I used smooth but you can use crunchy, too.
Coconut oil: allows for a lovely caramel texture.
Maple syrup: for sweetness.
Peanuts: I use pre-roasted peanuts which adds more flavour but regular peanuts are also great.
Salt: to make a salted caramel.

And to make the bounty bar ones:
Coconut yoghurt: the thicker and creamier the better. I use Cocos Organic as the ingredients are so simple.
Melted coconut oil: to allow the filling to set.
Desiccated coconut: for a really coconut filling with texture and bite.
Are these gluten-free and nut-free?
These are naturally gluten-free. To make them nut-free, swap the peanut butter for sunflower seed butter or tahini and the peanuts for sunflower seeds, cacao nibs or puffed quinoa for crunch.
