What ingredients do I need?

You can see the ingredients with weights in the recipe card below and see my favourite and recommended products in the “shop the recipe” section.

For the oats:

  • Cherries: I use frozen ones for the compote as it’s easier but you can use fresh ones, too. I add some fresh cherries on top, too.
  • Maple syrup: just one tbsp to add into the compote to make the texture nice and sticky.
  • Rolled oats: use GF where needed.
  • Chia seeds: these are from Naturale Bio which are organic and make the oat pudding so thick, creamy and high in fibre and protein.
  • Cacao powder: this is from Naturale Bio and is so good. Make sure to use a 100% cacao powder without added sugars.
  • Coconut yoghurt: I use the vanilla Cocos yoghurt which is so thick and creamy and works perfectly in the oats and on top.
  • Dairy-free milk: I use soya milk for breakfast recipes for the added protein and it’s naturally unsweetened.
  • Pistachios: I love to add these on top for some crunch, but you can swap these for seeds or leave them off.

Are these gluten-free and nut-free?

These are easily gluten-free if you use GF oats and to make them nut-free, swap the pistachios for seeds on top.

How do I make them?

These oats are ready to enjoy in a few steps:

  • Warm the cherries in a saucepan with maple syrup and water: until bubbling.
  • Stir the oats, cacao and chia seeds: to combine.
  • Pour in the wet ingredients: and stir again.
  • Leave overnight in the fridge: to thicken.
  • Serve the oats layered with the cherry compote and some more yoghurt: with some cacao powder on top.

How long will they last?

These will keep for 2-3 days in the fridge covered.
