What ingredients do I need?
You can see the ingredients with weights in the recipe card below and see my favourite and recommended products in the “shop the recipe” section.
For the bites:
Oat mylk chocolate: I use the oat mylk dark chocolate buttons from Raw Halo which are made without refined sugars, naturally vegan and only contain natural ingredients.
Runny smooth almond butter: I used the Pip&Nut Coconut Almond butter which is so delicious but any smooth, runny nut butter will work. Try peanut or cashew butter or make them nut-free by using tahini or sunflower seed butter.
Banana: slice into rounds. You can also try these with berries, too.
Medjool dates: de-stone them and chop into small chunks to add into the bites.
Desiccated coconut: for some texture inside the cups.
Freeze-dried raspberries: these are optional for a pop of colour and intense berry flavour on top.

How do I make them?
These are ready in a few steps:
Melt the chocolate with some almond butter: either over a pan of simmering water or in the microwave.
Use half of the chocolate to coat the inside of the silicon moulds: or similar moulds.
Place a banana in each mould with some dates and rest of the almond butter: sprinkle over the coconut.
Top with the rest of the chocolate: to cover all of the filling.
Allow the chocolate to set in the fridge for 2 hours: for a softer bite.
Or set in the freezer for 1 hour: to enjoy these as “ice cream” bites.
How long will they last?
These will keep for 2-3 days in the fridge or in the freezer for 1 month, wrapped well.
Rich, delicious and so easy to make, these Chocolate Banana Date Almond Butter Bites are the perfect little snack. They are naturally plant-based, gluten-free and require no baking, made with just 5 basic ingredients.
Ingredients
200g dairy-free dark or mylk chocolate buttons
100-120g runny smooth almond butter, divided
1-2 bananas, sliced into rounds
5 medjool dates, de-pitted and chopped small
1 tbsp desiccated coconut
1 tbsp freeze-dried raspberries, optional
Instructions
Have a 15-hole silicone mould or similar to hand.
Add the chocolate buttons and 30g of almond butter to a heatproof bowl and place over a pan of simmering water (or in the microwave) until melted.
Use half the melted chocolate to pour into the base of the moulds.
Top with a banana round, some medjool dates, the rest of the almond butter and sprinkle over the desiccated coconut.
Now top with the remaining chocolate and smooth over the tops. Sprinkle on the freeze-dried raspberries.
Place in the fridge for 2 hours, or until set. Or, you can freeze the bites for an “ice cream” style snack (but you must eat them from the freezer otherwise the banana will go slimy).
When ready to eat, pop the bites out of the tray and enjoy straight away. Keep in the fridge for 2-3 days or in the freezer for 1 month.
