Here I share my favourite vegan recipes that are not only delicious, but they are vibrant, wholesome and designed to nourish you from the inside out with vegan and vegan curious followers.
These Homemade Ginger Shots are fiery, fruity and packed with hydrating and skin loving ingredients, making them so delicious and refreshing. They are made with just 4 simple ingredients and taste so good.
I have been making my own ginger shots for the last few months after spending so much money on them in the shops. There are some really good brands out there which I love to support but sometimes, it’s just as good to make your own – and much cheaper. Another bonus is that these ginger shots aren’t based on apple juice like so many of them are. Did you know that most of them are over 50% apple juice and hardly any ginger? Or some use orange juice or other fruit juices which makes the ginger weaker and I’d rather spend my money on fiery shots. So these ones are made with coconut water, making them lower in sugar, and even more hydrating.

What ingredients do I need?
You can see the ingredients with weights in the recipe card below.
For the shots:
Fresh ginger: you can buy these loose in most supermarkets and just give it a good wash before using it, no need to peel it.
Lemons: either peel or juice the lemons for some zing.
Coconut water: make sure its 100% coconut without adding sugars etc. If you really don’t like coconut water, I suggest using half apple juice (one that’s 100% juice) and half water.
Satsumas or mango: I peel the satsumas and add to the blender or use some fresh or frozen mango, too. This adds some natural sweetness and vitamin C.
Manuka honey or agave/maple syrup: this is optional if you like it a bit sweeter or want the properties of honey.

Ingredients
150g ginger (skin on)
3 lemons, juiced or peeled
500ml coconut water
2 small satsumas, peeled (100g or mango)
1 heaped tbsp manuka honey or agave syrup, optional
Instructions
Chop up the ginger into small chunks and add to a high-powered blender with the lemon juice, 300ml (or the full 500ml if your blender is big enough) coconut water, peeled satsumas and the honey/syrup. Blend until no lumps remain.
Place a sieve or muslin over a large bowl and strain the juice through until you have all the juice in the bowl and a dry pulp remains. You can discard the pulp and add in any reserved coconut water to the juice.
Transfer to a sealable jar or bottle and keep in the fridge for 7-10 days.
